Jon Stars grew up in a small town in southern New Jersey. He found photography at the end of high school as a way to share his experience riding freestyle BMX and going to local punk shows. He studied photography professionally at Hallmark Institute of Photography then moved to Philadelphia to develop his own gritty style of photographing. After spending time in New York City Jon made the journey west to Los Angeles with his dog Bruce. When he’s not in his studio you can find him riding motorcycles, camping, or under the red safe light of his darkroom.
