Annie was born and raised on a mule farm way outside Spokane, Washington. Besides 35 mules she had a pony named Cloud, a Bassett Hound named Bullet, 12 barn cats, and a 600lb pig named Rasberry. Although these animals proved very willing subjects, stomping through the fields with her grandpa’s Lieca M6 one day was not enough. After receiving her BA at Brooks in 2001 she would relocate to NYC and begin her career assisting Mary Ellen Mark. She stood out quickly through her infectious energy and unmistakable laugh. Always striving to find a freeing energy in her portraits she has an innate ability to bring out the best in people.
Permanently relocating to Los Angeles in 2004, Annie is continually hired by clients and brands who appreciate her talents, energy, professionalism and the bright, vibrant, romantic vision that she brings to each shoot. When she’s not shooting, she can be found scouring thrift stores and flea markets, supporting her slightly out of control vintage habit. She’s obsessed with decor, throwing Kaftan parties, the desert, her dogs, and reupholstering furniture with African mud cloth.
Annie, her son, Cash and her husband Chris Wyllie have a home in Studio City. They currently split their time between Los Angeles and their ranch in Joshua Tree which also doubles as a photo shoot location and an Artist’s retreat.
